Seamless Tier Technique

I'm always on the lookout for cool and interesting techniques.  Yesterday, while I was surfing the Pinterest boards for inspiration, I came across this awesome technique called a Seamless Tier Card.  There is a tutorial by  Julia Stainton HERE.  I loved the look of the black and white with a little pop of color.  I used the pretty Elegant Flowers and a greeting from the Little Phrases II  stamp sets.  Both sets are from Inspired by Stamping who incidentally have a sale going on right now HERE.

Following are the dimensions of the layers I used:
5-1/2" x 8-12" Basic Black, folded in half for card base
5-3/8" x 4-1/8" Shimmery White
4-1/2" x 3-1/4" Basic Black
4-3/8" x 3-1/8" Shimmery White
3-1/2" x 2-1/4" Basic Black
3-3/8" x 2-1/8" Shimmery White

Extra flower is stamped with black onto Shimmery White card stock then I used a sponge dauber to apply a base of Pink Pirouette ink and then added shading with Riding Hood Red ink.  I cut out the flower and attached with dimensionals.  The greeting is punched out with the Word Window punch and glued to flower. The ribbon is a retired Stampin' Up! taffetta ribbon in Riding Hood Red.

  4. Too funny - I posted a layered card on my blog today too. It seems to be contagious. It is an older technique but always elegant.

  9. I have made this type of card for a swap. It really makes you say "Oops" when you are stamping it, and then when you put it together it's AWESOME!
