PKS Challenge #10 Faux Stitching

This week's Peachy Keen challenge is to create a card using faux stitching.  I instantly thought about the super cute In Stitches face stamp set.  The sweet little greeting from Vivienne and Friends goes perfectly with the stitches.  And of course, this little flower wouldn't be complete without an Action Wobble on his head.  Check out the instructions to make this card below the photo.  Check out the other fantastic projects from the design team HERE.

Instructions:
Punch 5 flowers with Blossom punch.  Stack flowers and pierce hole in center.  Put a mini brad in the center and then turn the flowers to stagger the petals.  Fluff the petals forward to create some depth.

Stamp the face on a So Saffron 1-1/4" Circle punch.  Color the nose with riding hood red.  Add regal rose to cheeks and whites to eyes with unibal white gel pen.  Sponge edges of circle with more mustard ink.  Attach face with dimensionals.  Cut a strip of green print paper 1/4" x 4".  Punch 2 wings from Bird Builder.  Sponge edges with old live ink.

Cut the following layers for card:
8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Ruby Red or Riding Hood Red for base, folded in half
4" x 5-1/4" floral print (Colorbok Flea Market papers)
4-3/8" x 2-1/2" very vanilla
4-1/4" x 2-3/8" doily print (Colorbok Flea Market papers)
4" x 1-1/2" green print (Colorbok Flea Market papers)
1" x 4" Soft Sky, punch one edge with Scallop Border punch

Layer doily print on very vanilla and draw stitches around outer edge with unibal white gel pen.  Layer green print over soft sky scallop border. Tie a fork bow in 5/8" vanilla satin ribbon and glue tails to back.  Draw stitches along top and bottom with gel pen.  Attach floral print onto card base and attach green print piece onto card.  Attach doily print piece with dimensionals.  Stamp greeting in lower corner.  Glue flower stem on diagonally.  Attach leaves with dimensionals.  Attach flower head with action wobble spring.

My Creative Time 3-D Wednesday

It's time for another 3D challenge at My Creative Time.  The design team has some great projects to share HERE.  For my project, I was inspired to modify the free standing pop up card technique to make a picture frame.  The step by step tutorial for the free standing pop up card is located HERE.  To make the frame, you need to cut the slot wider and make a gate fold picture frame to attach to the pop up.  For the instructions, please see the downloadable tutorial below the pictures.  I used the Happy Hunting stamp set from My Creative Time for the fun greeting.  Check out this super cute set HERE.

Punch Inspiration 3/19/12

Well, it has once again been confirmed by PC Magazine.  The Google Chrome browser is the best when compared to other browsers!  Not only is it safer but it's far superior in speed and features like the auto translate  when you go to a foreign language site.  If you haven't tried Chrome, you should.  It's free to download and you won't want to use your old browser after trying it out!

On to the inspiration!

Punch Inspiration 3/18/12

Sorry this is so late.  I was so tired I had to sleep in today.  The next couple months will be a very busy one!  We had our offer on a home accepted with the closing later in April.  I'm crossing my fingers that the inspection and appraisal go well.  I've been looking for some time for a home that meets all of my needs and I finally found one.  I'm so excited because I'm finally getting my own craft room.  The room is a clean slate, so if you have any ideas and would like to share pictures of your own craft haven, I would love to see it.

Peachy Challenge #8 Little Chick Punch Art

I realize it's been a while since I shared a punch art creation featuring Peachy Keen face stamps.  The challenge this week is "Anything Goes" which is great since I'm free to do whatever I want!  The other girls have wonderful creations to share.  Check them out at the challenge site HERE.  Join the challenge for a chance to win some Peachy Keen goodies!  For my project, I used one of my favorite face sets, PK-754 Critter Faces Medium.  Of course, my little chick was perfect with an Action Wobble behind her head. Instructions are below the picture.

Instructions:
Punch the following pieces:
1-1/4" Circle in So Saffron for head
Ornament in So Saffron for body
1-3/4" Circle in Shimmery White for egg shell
2 wings from Bird Builder in So Saffron for wings
medium flower from Boho Blossoms in So Saffron for feathers
2 small flowers from Boho Blossoms in Peach Parfait for feet
2 strips of Peach Parfait 1/8" x 1-1/2" for legs

Trim the top and bottom of 1-1/4" Circle into an oval.  Sponge the edges of all saffron pieces with More Mustard ink.  Hand cut the 1-3/4" Circle into broken egg shell.  Cut 2 petals off each side of small boho blossom to create feet.  Trim between toes.  Sponge edges of peach pieces with Cajun Craze ink.

Stamp critter face with basic black ink.  Color in whites of eyes with uniball gel pen.  Color beak with Pumpkin Pie ink.  Glue legs and wings onto body.  Attach shell with dimensionals.  Trim the Action Wobble to fit behind the head and attach to body.  Glue feathers on head.

For the base of the tag, cut a piece of wild wasabi card stock 4-3/8" x 2-5/8" and use a corner rounder punch on each corner.  Punch a 2-3/8" Scallop Circle out of wild wasabi and glue to back where 6 scallops on the circle show at the top.  Cut a piece of 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" printed paper and corner round edges.  Glue onto tag.  Punch a flower with Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch in pretty in pink.  Punch flowers with Boho Blossom punch in pretty in pink.  Sponge all pieces with regal rose ink and layer pieces.  Put a designer brand in center of layered flowers.  Attach flower to tag.

Base of card is 5-1/2" x 11" Chocolate Chip card stock folded in half.  Layer 5-3/8" x 5-3/8" So Saffron.  Cut strip of designer paper 5-3/8" x 2".  Punch 2 strips of Pool Party card stock with Lace Ribbon Border punch.  Attach strip at top and bottom of designer paper strip.  Attach layers to card base.  Wrap pool party ruffled ribbon around card and tie ribbon.  Attach tag with dimensionals.  Attach chick to tag with dimensionals.

My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Software & BLOG CANDY

I was recently offered the opportunity to review the My Memories Suite V3 Digital Scrapbooking Software and I had a LOT of fun playing with this software!  Whether you are a seasoned digital scrapbooker or have never done it before, this software is for you.  This software can do so much more than scrapbook page design and the incredible selection of designer papers, page elements, fonts and templates that come with the software is truly impressive.  But even more impressive are the thousands more downloadable page elements, kits and templates on their website.  There are so many FREE things on their site to download and the prices are really cheap for the collections on sale.  They have many designers on the site that cover all ranges of style from classy to cute.

I'm a cute style girl myself.  After downloading and registering my software, I got a confirmation email with a code for $10 free to spend on additional downloads! There were so many wonderful things out there that I had a hard time deciding.  I added even more stuff to my wish list for future purchases.  What to see what I ordered with my free $10?  Check these collections out!

Secret Garden Combo Pack
Hop Into Spring
Fur' Ever Love

The software is so incredibly easy to use!  I created these 3 cards to share with you all.  I can print these on my printer or even just send it in an email to brighten a friends day.  I had so much fun creating and didn't have to make a mess to do it.

You may be wondering how this software compares to My Digital Studio.  I own both and to be honest, I have yet to figure out how to use MDS because it was way more complicated than My Memories Suite V3.  I was creating instantly with My Memories Suite because it was so intuitive and easy to use.  I think it has a huge advantage over MDS because not only is it easier to use, but it's much cheaper to buy and the content is way more diverse and lower priced.  Their website has so many great ideas and free content that you could spend hours just looking at everything available!

I'm really excited about the fact that I will be able to create card and page sketches really easily with this software!  If you were to buy it for only this purpose, it would be totally worth the purchase.

What do you think of my creations?  How about trying out the software yourself?  You can download the free trial HERE.  The software is only $39.97 but the best part is that I have a $10 OFF coupon code for you PLUS once you pay for the software, you will receive an email with a $10 code to purchase more content at the website.  WHAT AN AWESOME DEAL!
To save $10, use the following coupon code: STMMMS2953

BLOG CANDY ALERT!
Would you like to win this software?  I am also hosting a give-away of the My Memories Suite software!  To enter the give-away, please visit the site HERE and look at some of the great kits.  Then, leave a comment telling me the name of a kit you liked.  I will draw a random winner from the comments on Sunday night.
GOOD LUCK!
